At Cantrell Service Center we offer a wide variety of tires to meet the individual needs of our customers. Choosing the right tire can be complicated because there may be multiple tire options for your vehicle including size, load range, speed rating etc. Tires also differ in their performance. A single tire contains over 100 separate components that can include natural rubber, synthetic rubber, steel, nylon, silica (derived from sand), polyester, carbon black, petroleum, etc. Tire manufacturers use different combinations of ingredients and processes that lead to different performance characteristics. We explain the options and basic characteristics of different tire types and work with our customers to choose the best fit between performance and price to insure you get the best tires for you vehicle.
Proper tire maintenance is an important safety function that is often neglected. The most important aspect of tire maintenance is proper inflation. All tires, including the spare, should be checked for proper inflation at least once a month. Under-inflation is the cause of most tire problems and increases the risk of tire failure and blowouts. In order to prevent irregular and premature wear tires should be checked and rotated every 6,000 miles. Maintaining your tires will insure you get the most out of your tires, long life, performance and most of all safety. The importance of properly maintaining your tires cannot be overemphasized. Remember, tires are the only contact between your vehicle and the road.
